The Fulton County Saddle Club was organized in 1944 by a group of horse persons from the northwest Ohio area.  The initial purpose of the Club as stated in its by-laws was to promote more interest in the western horse, to promote better horse shows and rodeos, to promote and maintain interest in trail rides, to broaden the acquaintance between horse people and their activities and to create better sportsmanship in horse activities and to promote better legislation concerning National, State, County, and local equine laws.
